Renewal Period: 5 years

The Medium/Heavy Truck - Suspension and Steering (T5) credential has the following recertification information:

  • To recertify, Medium/Heavy Truck - Suspension and Steering (T5) certification holders must pass a recertification test and pay a recertification test fee every five years.

Additional considerations for the Medium/Heavy Truck - Suspension and Steering (T5) include:

  • Certification holders who are certified in ASE tests T2 – T8 are recognized as ASE Certified Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technicians. Test T1 is not required for Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technician status. Additional information can be found on the ASE website.

Current Coast Guard policy states all credentials listed on CG COOL may be reimbursed assuming the enlisted service member meets the eligibility requirements as outlined in the Coast Guard Voluntary Credentialing Program Policy (COMDTINST 1540.1(series))
