The International Code Council (ICC), Fire Inspector II - 67 certification validates the skills and knowledge of experienced fire inspectors who perform building inspections for compliance with all federal, state and local fire codes and standards and identify violations and deficiencies. The Fire Inspector II understands general fire safety provisions, determines safe building occupancy numbers and evaluates the operational readiness of existing fire protection systems, including emergency exits, alarms, and sprinkler systems. In addition, the Fire Inspector is able to evaluate emergency planning and preparedness procedures and to identify complex life safety and fire issues relating to construction type, height and area limitations, interior finish and occupancy type and knows appropriate processes as applied to general code compliance when conducting a fire inspections and handling of regulated materials. There are no experience or education prerequisites, but candidates must be current Fire Inspector I certification holders. Candidates must pass a written exam.
