The International Code Council (ICC), Fire Inspector I - 66 certification validates the skills and knowledge of candidates who perform building inspections for compliance with all federal, state and local fire codes and standards and identify violations and deficiencies. The Fire Inspector understands general fire safety provisions, determines safe building occupancy numbers and evaluates the operational readiness of existing fire protection systems, including emergency exits, alarms, and sprinkler systems. In addition, the Fire Inspector identifies problems relating to construction type, height and area limitations, interior finish and occupancy type and knows appropriate processes as applied to general code compliance when conducting a fire inspections and handling of regulated materials. Candidates must pass a written exam.
