A Certified Technology Specialist- Design (CTS-D) is an AV systems designer who assesses client's needs, designs AV systems and prepares AV design documents, by coordinating and collaborating with other professionals to create AV systems that satisfy clients' requirements. Applicants must agree to the terms and conditions as noted in the CTS-D Application, which includes agreement to the CTS Code of Ethics & Conduct; must have a valid CTS certification and be in good standing with the Certification Committee; and must provide third-party verification of a minimum of two years of audiovisual design experience. Applicants must pass an examination.

Applicants must verify that they have a minimum of two years of audiovisual design experience. Documentation must be verified by signature of owner, supervisor, HR department OR provide redacted documentation such as W2s, performance reviews, client letters etc.

RECERTIFICATION

Certified Technology Specialist- Design (CTS-D)

Renewal Period: 3 years

The Certified Technology Specialist- Design (CTS-D) credential has the following recertification information:

  • Must have completed thirty approved (30) renewal units (RUs) within the three year certification period.
  • All levels of CTS certified individuals have the option to renew by taking the current certification exam corresponding to their existing renewal credential(s) instead of through the RU process.
