The International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians (ISCET), Certified Electronics Technician - Associate-Level (Associate CET), is an entry-level certification for technicians and students with under four years of experience and validates the technician’s knowledge of basic electronics, including math, DC and AC circuts, transistors and troubleshooting. The Associate CET is also a pre-requisite for ISCET Journeyman level certifications. Candidates must pass a written exam.

Candidate who is a technician or student in electronics with less than four years of experience may take the associate level exam.
Written Exam
Associate level CET exam is the basic electronics portion of the full credit CET exam and must be passed with a score of 75% or better.

Additional considerations for the Certified Electronics Technician - Associate-Level (Associate CET) include:
- Candidate can earn an Associate CET through the ISCET Electronic Systems Associate (ESA) program. The ESA covers DC, AC, Semi, and Digital in four parts. Certificates are awarded for passing each of the four parts. Once all four certificates are earned, the Associate CET is awarded. For details, go to the ISCET ESA exam on the website.
- In addition to the Associate CET, candidate might also consider the more advanced journeyman-level Certified Electronics Technician certifications. To attain journeyman level certification, candidates must pass the Associate CET exam plus one or more of the specialized Journeyman options. For more information go to the ISCET website.
