The Steward Cook (SC) is head of the Supply Department and responsible for all food service operations, management, discipline, and training within the Supply Department. The SC primary function is to assure that onboard food service operations meet the highest standards of preparation, production, presentation, and fiscal responsibility and accountability. Similarly, the SC is responsible for the maintenance of all physical spaces assigned to the Supply Department. Incumbent reports to the Supply Officer (where assigned) or Master (where Supply Officer not assigned) for the performance of all general functions, including accounting operations. As Department Officer, it is expected that the SC will comply with all instructions pertaining to Personnel Administration, Financial Accountability, EEO, Supply Operations, and to submit accurate and timely financial reports. ) MMD REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a current United States Coast Guard Merchant Mariner's Document (USCG MMD) with the endorsement (s) of Ordinary Seaman, Wiper, Steward Dept. (FH) Previous Navy experience Culinary Specialist (E-7 or above); or equivalent experience obtained in other Government Uniformed Service with a minimum of 3 years as a food service manager within the last 5 years.
