Aviation Environmental/Egress Technicians is a ship and shore base maintenance position designated for pay grades E1-E7. Maintains and repairs the following aircraft systems: Ejection seats; Crash worthy seats; Canopy systems; Aircraft Egress Systems; Gaseous and Liquid Oxygen systems; Aircraft air-conditioning and pressurization systems; Avionics and Ground Cooling Equipment Systems; Aircraft Utility Systems; Management of Egress Explosive Devices. Training Squadron Personnel in Egress System Safety. The AME is also responsible for work center management and performing daily, preflight, post flight and other periodic aircraft inspections.
