Candidates must have 11 years of experience and 20 hours of training.
Note: Training must have occurred within the two years prior to an application for certification. Experience must be within the past 12 years. Additional information can be found in the GCCC Candidate Handbook.
Other REQUIREMENTS
The Strategic Communication Management Professional (SCMP) credential has the following other requirements:
- Candidates must provide a letter of recommendation from mentees or an organization for which the candidate has done pro bono work addressing senior level contributions to communications.
- Candidates must subscribe to a code of professional ethics for communication professionals, such as the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Code of Ethics or the code of another professional association to which a communicator belongs.
