Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)

The Red Hat Inc., Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) credential is a foundation for system administration across many Red Hat products. RHCEs demonstrate knowledge and skill using Red Hat Ansible Engine to execute various system administration tasks across several systems. Candidates, who must currently hold the RHCSA certification, are tested in their understanding of network services, and system configuration and management. Candidates must pass a practical exam.

Testing Information

Exam Administration
Credential exams may be administered in-person at a testing site, proctored on-line remotely, or have options for both. If an exam is administered through a test vendor, the third-party test vendor box will be checked. The following test administration options apply to the Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) credential where checked:

RECERTIFICATION

Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)

Renewal Period: 3 years

The Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) credential has the following recertification information:

Red Hat certifications are current for three years. They do not expire or become terminated, but can become "non-current." Certification holders have two ways to recertify:

Pass the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 version of the RHCE exam (EX294) as a current RHCSA.
Become a Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) in Infrastructure while still a current RHCE.
