Candidates must meet a combination of education, training and experience requirements. Candidates must pass a written exam.

Education/Training and/or Experience REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must meet one of the following eligibility options to qualify:
Option 1:Candidate must have two years verifiable full-time ICT design experience AND currently hold a BICSI TECH, RTPM, DCDC or OSP certification.
Option 2:
Candidate must have two years of verifiable full-time ICT design experience AND completion of two years of higher ICT course work, which may include:
- STEM or trade school
- ICT and industry-related programs, apprenticeships or certification
- Two-year degree
- Military training equipment
Candidate must have five years of ICT design experience.

The Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) credential has the following other requirements:
- Candidate must agree to comply with the Code of Ethics and Professional Obligations, which can be found in the RCDD Certification Handbook.
