The ASIS International, Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification is designed for individuals whose primary responsibilities are to conduct physical security surveys, design integrated security systems that include equipment, procedures, and people; or install, operate or maintain those systems and who have demonstrated in-depth operational knowledge and competence in this area. Candidates must meet academic and experience requirements. Candidates must pass a written exam.

Education and/or Experience REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must have four years of progressive experience in the physical security field and a Bachelor degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher education.
Option 2:Candidate must have six years of progressive experience in the physical security field and a high school diploma, FEW equivalent, or associate degree.
Other REQUIREMENTS
The Physical Security Professional (PSP) credential has the following other requirements:
- Candidate must be employed full-time in a security-related role.
- Candidate must not have been convicted of any criminal offense that would reflect negatively on the security profession, ASIS, or the certification program.
- Candidate must abide by the ASIS Certification Code of Conduct.
- Candidates must abide by the policies that are outlined in the ASIS Certification Handbook.
