The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), Operations and Performance Management Professional (OPMP) certification shows knowledge of the management of facility operations and maintenance and their impact on HVAC&R systems' performance. The OPMP examination is designed to assess an individual's understanding of how the management of HVAC&R operations helps to achieve and maintain building performance goals. Candidates must submit a completed application and meet one of the combinations of academic and work experience requirements to be eligible to sit for the exam.

Education/Training and/or Experience REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent or construction-related trades training or building operations training from a nationally or internationally recognized trade association with a minimum of seven years of experience in one of the following areas: facilities operations/management, construction, design, or consulting, including a minimum of two years of experience in facility operations.
Option 2:
Candidate must have an associate’s degree, technical degree, or certificate in building design, construction, construction management, facility operation, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher learning and a minimum of five years of experience in one of the following areas: facilities operations/management, construction, design, or consulting, including a minimum of two years of experience in facility operations.
Option 3:Candidate must have a minimum of bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field from an accredited institution of higher learning and a minimum of five years of experience in one of the following areas: facilities operations/management, construction, design, or consulting, including a minimum of two years of experience in facility operations.
Option 4:
Candidate must have a government-issued or government-recognized license as a professional engineer or building contractor and a minimum of two years of experience in facility operations.
