The Mixed Gas Diving Supervisor certification is recommended for intermediate-level commercial divers. Applicants must have achieved the ADCI Entry Level Tender/Diver, ADCI Air Diver, and ADCI Mixed Gas Diver certifications prior to pursuing the Mixed Gas Diving Supervisor credential. In addition to the expectations of the earlier level divers, Mixed Gas Diving Supervisors ensure that the diving equipment designated for use is suitable for the planned operation, compliant with regulatory requirements for the diving mode used and inspected prior to each dive and is in good working order; ensure that all relevant operating instructions, manuals, decompression tables, treatment schedules and regulatory publications are available at the dive location and are maintained to reflect current changes and/or developments; ensure the detailed briefing of diving team and support personnel, includes disclosure of tasks to be undertaken and unusual hazards or environmental conditions; make modifications to standard procedures to meet safety needs; plus other expectations. Mixed Gas Diving Supervisors must meet training and experience requirements as well.

Credential Pre-requisite REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have earned all 3 earlier level ADCI certifications:
- Mixed Gas Diver
- Air Diver
- Entry Level Tender/ Diver
Education REQUIREMENTS
Applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must meet the following experience requirements:
- 350 field days working as an air or mixed-gas diver
- 150 working dives as an air or mixed-gas diver, occuring in the abovementioned 350 field days
- 30 days working as an assistant mixed-gas diving supervisor

Note, these requirements are in addition to the requirements that applicants must have met for the prerequisites Mixed Gas Diver, Air Diver, and Entry Level Tender/Diver.Other REQUIREMENTS
The Mixed Gas Diving Supervisor credential has the following other requirements:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Maintain Red Cross certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Meet comprehensive ADCI Medical Requirements. For further information visit ADCI Consensus Standards Medical Requirements Sections 2.3-4.
- Submit documentation of course completion along with copies of diving logs with the application. Diving proficiency establishes the required minimum number of open-water working dives required to obtain various designations. All dives must be performed during a 24-month period immediately prior to issuance of the designation. Work must be performed during each dive with proper supervision. All dives must have a minimum of 20 minutes bottom time. A number of shorter-duration dives may be combined to equal one dive of the required 20-minute bottom time.
