Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC), GIAC Continuous Monitoring Certification (GMON) is an advanced level certification for security architects, engineers, analysts, and managers who assess and implement defensible security architecture and continuous security monitoring. GMON candidates must be able to securely architect a network that is resistant to breaches and lends itself to monitoring and monitor, analyze, and detect threats and anomalies on the network. GMON does not require any prerequisites or specific training. GMON candidates are required to pass a written exam.

GIAC Continuous Monitoring Certification (GMON)

Renewal Period: 4 years

The GIAC Continuous Monitoring Certification (GMON) credential has the following recertification information:

  • GIAC certifications are valid for four years. Certification holders are required to submit a total of 36 CPEs for each GIAC certification renewal or may take the current exam. Additional information can be found in the GIAC Certification Renewal How-To Guide.

  • Note: Marine Corps COOL will only pay recertification fees for the current year, no arrears will be paid. Voucher requests for recertification fees must be submitted with proof of the current status of the certification (for example, a screen shot of your credentialing agency dashboard or a copy of a current fee receipt).

Star

CG Bucks

Current Coast Guard policy states all credentials listed on CG COOL may be reimbursed assuming the enlisted service member meets the eligibility requirements as outlined in the Coast Guard Voluntary Credentialing Program Policy (COMDTINST 1540.1(series))
