The Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) Certification Commission, Inc., Fire Apparatus Technician Master Level III certification is an advance-level certification that recognizes technicians who service and maintain fire department pumpers, squads, aerial devices, tankers, wildland and apparatus. Fire Apparatus technicians are knowledgeable and skilled in design and performance standards, specialized systems and equipment, and the accepted practices used in the service and maintenance of fire apparatus. Candidates must have met the requirements of Fire Apparatus Technician Level I and II. Candidates must pass two EVT written exams and two National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) written exams.

Candidate must have met the requirements for Fire Apparatus Technician Level I and II prior to applying for Fire Apparatus Technician Master Level III.

The Fire Apparatus Technician Master Level III credential has the following other requirements:

RECERTIFICATION

Fire Apparatus Technician Master Level III

Renewal Period: 5 years

The Fire Apparatus Technician Master Level III credential has the following recertification information:

  • The Fire Apparatus Technician Master Level III certification is renewed every five years. The EVT Certification Commission requires each certification holder to pass the current EVT recertification examination every five years.
  • Note: Marine Corps COOL will only pay recertification fees for the current year, no arrears will be paid. Voucher requests for recertification fees must be submitted with proof of the current status of the certification (for example, a screen shot of your credentialing agency dashboard or a copy of a current fee receipt).
