Candidate must earn the Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) certification by passing the CWNA exam with a score of 80% or higher.

Candidate must pass the appropriate level exam for the corresponding course they would like to teach with a minimum score of 80% or higher.  For example, if a candidate wanted to teach a Certified Wireless Technology Specialist (CWTS) course, he/she must pass the CWTS certification exam with a minimum score of 80%.

Candidate must have a current technology training certification/degree, such as:

  • Microsoft MCT
  • CompTIA CTT+
  • Novell CNI
  • Cisco CCNI or CCSI
  • JEB Level 3 Certificate
  • Current certification as an instructor by any branch of the Armed Forces
  • College or University Professor

Candidate must have a minimum of 12 months of documented IT industry training experience.

Candidate must attend an authorized Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) class taught by a CWNT certified instructor.

Candidates must pass the Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) exam and the appropriate level exam with a minimum score of 80%.

RECERTIFICATION

Certified Wireless Network Trainer (CWNT)

Renewal Period: 1 year

The Certified Wireless Network Trainer (CWNT) credential has the following recertification information:

  • The CWNT certification is an instructor certification, and must be maintained more rigorously and more often than other certifications. CWNTs must recertify at each level he/she teaches each time that an exam is updated. Additional information about recertification can be found on the CWNP website.
  • Note: Marine Corps COOL will only pay recertification fees for the current year, no arrears will be paid. Voucher requests for recertification fees must be submitted with proof of the current status of the certification (for example, a screen shot of your credentialing agency dashboard or a copy of a current fee receipt).

Current Coast Guard policy states all credentials listed on CG COOL may be reimbursed assuming the enlisted service member meets the eligibility requirements as outlined in the Coast Guard Voluntary Credentialing Program Policy (COMDTINST 1540.1(series))
