The Society of Broadcast Engineers, Inc. (SBE), Certified Senior Radio Engineer (CSRE) is an advanced-career level radio broadcasting engineer credential. CSRE candidates must have 10 years of responsible broadcast engineering or related technology experience. Broadcast engineers work in teams; other professionals on a team include producers, studio managers, presenters, and technical staff. Candidates for the CSRE credential must pass a written examination.

Education/Training and/or Experience REQUIREMENTS
Certified Senior Broadcast Radio Engineer candidates must have ten (10) years of suitable experience in broadcast engineering or related technology and must achieve a passing grade on the proficiency examination.
Substitution of broadcast engineering, or education in related technologies, for experience may be made as follows:
- State PE License - A state registered Professional Engineer's license equals 4 years of experience.
- BA/BS Degree - A Bachelor Degree equals 4 years of experience.
- AS/ABA/ABS - Associate Degree equals 2 years of experience.
- Other advanced training and education - Years of related accredited education, i.e., military, correspondence, etc. can be substituted, year-for-year, up to four (4) years of experience.
Note, candidates will not receive dual credit for concurrent years of experience and education.
