The American Culinary Federation (AFC), Certified Culinary Educator (CCE) credential is for an advanced-degree culinary professional who is working as an educator in an accredited postsecondary institution or military training facility. A CCE is responsible for the development, implementation, administration, evaluation and maintenance of a culinary arts or foodservice management curriculum. Candidates must meet a combination of education and experience requirements. Candidates must pass a written and practical exam.

Education REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must provide documentation of completion for three mandatory education courses:
- 30-hour course in Nutrition
- 30-hour course in Food Safety and Sanitation
- 30-hour course in Supervisory Management
Candidate must have obtained 120 hours of Education Development with a minimum of eight hours in the following subjects:
- Curriculum Planning and Development
- Evaluation and Testing
- Teaching Methodology
- Educational Psychology
Candidate must have an Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts.
Option 2:Candidate must have a Bachelor Degree in any discipline.
Experience REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must have two years experience as a Chef de Cuisine or Working Pastry Chef. Candidate must have supervised at least two full-time peole in the preparation of food. Industry work experience must be within the past 10 years prior to employment as a culinary instructor.
Candidate is required to have 1,200 secondary or postsecondary teach contact hours. Teaching hours must be within the past 10 years.
Other REQUIREMENTS
The Certified Culinary Educator (CCE) credential has the following other requirements:
- Candidate must abide by the ACF Code of Ethics.

Candidate must submit a 45 to 60-minute video demonstrating the teaching abilities of a culinary competency set in front of a student audience as outline in the lesson plan.

- Certified Chef de Cuisine (CCC);
- Certified Working Pastry Chef (CWPC);
