MOS 7212 Low Altitude Air Defense (LAAD) Gunner

MOS Description

LAAD Gunners provide surface-to-air fires in support of MAGTF and joint air defense assets. Gunners are responsible for employment and maintenance of all equipment and weapon systems inherent to a LAAD Battalion. Gunners will provide ground security in defense of MAGTF air sites when not engaged in air defense operations. Gunners will provide air base ground security when not engaged in air defense operations.

The ASIS International, Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification is designed for individuals whose primary responsibilities are to conduct physical security surveys, design integrated security systems that include equipment, procedures, and people; or install, operate or maintain those systems and who have demonstrated in-depth operational knowledge and competence in this area. Candidates must meet academic and experience requirements. Candidates must pass a written exam.

The National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS4) Certified Sport Security Professional (CSSP) is a mid-to upper-level security credential for current security professionals, facility managers and directors, emergency management, law enforcement, government, public safety, event managers, and others responsible for planning and overall security operations of sports venues and events. CSSPs are responsible for developing security-related policies, operating plans, procedures, and creating and implementing training. CSSPs serve in command positions during events and supervise event personnel to ensure that event plans are being followed. Candidates must meet a combination of education and experience requirements. Candidates must pass a written exam.
