MOS Description

Expeditionary Airfield (EAF) Systems Technicians design expeditionary airfields, employs, installs, operates, inspects, maintains, and repairs EAF Systems to include Arresting Gear Systems, Visual Landing Aids, Airfield Lighting and Marking Systems and Airfield Surfacing System.

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Certified Fire Inspector I (CFI) certification program is an established process for identifying and recognizing a fire investigator's expertise and proficiency in the use of NFPA codes and standards. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent to be eligible for the CFI certification. Candidates must pass a written exam.

The Incident Safety Officer - Fire Suppression (ISO) is a mid-level certification. Applicants applying for this certification must be a member of the Fire Department Safety Officers Association, applicants sponsored by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) and individuals meeting the duties and requirements of a company officer or an Incident Scene Safety Officer. Applicants shall meet the requirements of NFPA 1521 - 2015 ed. Chapter 5 and be a member of a fire department an Emergency Services Organization with at least five years of experience.

ASTM International, NCATT Foreign Object Elimination (FOE) recognizes the knowledge base of the advanced aerospace technician and promotes integrity, safety, and professionalism in the aerospace workforce. FOE knowledge and skills include housekeeping, tool accountability, hardware accountability, lost items, physical entry and personnel control, reporting and investigating, material handling, parts protections, hazardous materials, wildlife/environment, and Foreign Object Damage (FOD) effects. There are no FOE eligibility requirements. The FOE written exam is open to all individuals regardless of career field, training, education or experience. Candidates must pass the written exam.

Applicants must meet training, experience, or education requirements. Any active or veteran military personnel whose rating or assignment is/was in the appropriate field are eligible for the BEE-AC exam. Applicants must pass a written exam.
