MOS Description

Flight Equipment Technicians inspect, maintain, and repair parachutes; flight survival equipment; flight equipment; carbon dioxide, and gaseous and liquid oxygen equipment.

Master Parachute Rigger- This is the upper level of the Parachute Rigger license sponsored by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). A parachute rigger is a person who is certified to pack, maintain, or alter parachutes. There are experience, knowledge, and skill requirements needed in order to be eligible to take any of the the Parachute Rigger exams. Candidates must be able to demonstrate their ability to pack and maintain two types of parachutes in common use.

Senior Parachute Rigger- This is the lower level of the Parachute Rigger license sponsored by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). A parachute rigger is a person who is certified to pack, maintain, or alter parachutes. Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (CMRP) is an entry-level certification. The Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) program is designed for certifying the knowledge, skills and experience of M&R professionals. It's more than just committing textbooks to memory; it's a thorough examination of individual expertise measured against a universal standard. It was developed to assess professionals' aptitude within the five (5) pillars of the Maintenance and Reliability Body of Knowledge: Business Management, Equipment Reliability, Manufacturing Process Reliability, Organization and Leadership, and Work Management. There are no educational or experiential requirements to sit for the exam.

Renewal Period: 1 year

Skydivers can qualify for and receive a variety of licenses and ratings according to their experience, skill, and knowledge level. USPA issues four skydiving licenses, A through D, indicating progressive levels of skill and accomplishment. USPA A License is an entry-level license. USPA licenses remain current with membership and are recognized by the Federation Aeronautique Internationale. Many skydivers also pursue ratings, which require qualifications in addition to those required for licenses. A skydiver is considered a student until issued a license.

National Center for Aerospace & Transportation Technologies (NCATT), Foreign Object Elimination (FOE) recognizes the knowledge base of the advanced aerospace technician and promotes integrity, safety, and professionalism in the aerospace workforce. FOE knowledge and skills include housekeeping, tool accountability, hardware accountability, lost items, physical entry and personnel control, reporting and investigating, material handling, parts protections, hazardous materials, wildlife/environment, and Foreign Object Damage (FOD) effects. There are no FOE eligibility requirements. The FOE written exam is open to all individuals regardless of career field, training, education or experience.
