The Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certification is an intermediate, managerial credential developed for professionals who demonstrate competency and work part-time or full-time in supervisory positions with tasks devoted to the prevention of harm to individuals in the workplace environment. The STS is often sought by safety professionals who are first-line supervisors and managers. STS candidate must have expertise in monitoring worksites for job hazards, helping to ensure regulatory compliance occurs, training employees in safety practices, performing safety-related record keeping, coordinating corrections for safety problems within or among work groups, and communicating with safety specialists or management. Candidates must take a written examination.

The United States Department of Transportation, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is for individuals who drive certain Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs). There are three classes of CDLs with endorsements for specialized qualifications for vehicles like school buses, tank trucks, and tractor trailers. The U.S. Department of Transportation requires drivers to obtain and hold a CDL if they operate in interstate, intrastate, or foreign commerce and drive a vehicle that meets one or more of the classifications of a CMV described on the FMSCA website. FMSCA has developed and issued standards for state testing and licensing of CDL holders. These standards require state governments to issue CDLs to certain CMV drivers only after the driver passes knowledge and skills testing that is administered by the state and related to the type of vehicle the driver expects to operate.

Candidates must meet the ASME B30.5 physical requirements all throughout the certification program. The main theory examination consists of ninety multiple choice questions, which must be completed in ninety minutes. Additional written exam requirements are needed for this specialty.

Designed for those with less project experience, the CAPM demonstrates an understanding of the fundamental knowledge, terminology and processes of effective project management. The written exam covers project management areas such as initiation, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, closing, and professional and social responsibility. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1500 hours professional experience on a project team or 23 hours of project management education.

The Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP), Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT) is an entry-level certification. CMRT will provide a non-biased, third-party, objective assessment and confirmation of the skills of your industrial maintenance mechanics. CMRT's are responsible for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance. They perform troubleshooting and analysis, and apply sound maintenance practices in all aspects of their work. CMRTs are multi-skilled individuals whose expertise is primarily mechanical in nature as opposed to instrumentation or electrical. The CMRT exam tests competency and knowledge of specific tasks within four (4) domains: Maintenance Practices, Preventative and Predictive Maintenance, Troubleshooting and Analysis, and Corrective Maintenance. There are no specific education or experience requirements to sit for the exam. Candidates must pass a written exam.

The National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO), Rigger I is an entry-level credential, ideal for persons trained to handle and move crane-bearing loads. A Certified Rigger Level I can perform simple, repetitive rigging tasks when the load weight, center of gravity, the rigging, and rigging configuration are provided or known by the rigger through experience or on-the-job training prior to the rigging activities. Specifically, Level I Riggers should be able to demonstrate or have knowledge of how to: inspect rigging before use, identify and attach rigging with basic knowledge of hitch configurations, capacities, and basic knots, recognize associated hazards, signal operations, and use various types of rigging equipment and basic hitches and their applications. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, comply with NCCO's Substance Abuse Policy, pass a written examination, pass a practical examination, and comply with the NCCCO Code of Ethics. The Rigger I certification must be renewed every five years.

The NCCCO Signalperson certification is an entry-level credential designed for signalpersons who are trained and who use hand and voice signals in crane operation. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age. Applicants and those certified agree to comply with NCCCO's Substance Abuse Policy and the NCCCO Code of Ethics. The Board of Certification Safety Professionals (BCSP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification is an entry-level to intermediate-level construction workplace safety credential. The CHST is designed for individuals who demonstrate competency and work part-time or full-time in health and safety activities devoted to the prevention of construction illnesses and injuries. Candidates should be responsible for securing safe and healthy conditions in construction projects or job sites. Candidates must meet minimum work experience of three years in the field of construction. Candidates must pass a written exam.

The National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO), Rigger II is a mid-career level credential. The Rigger Level II certification can be added at any time; however, if a Rigger Level I certificate holder is in the final year of certification, he or she may take the Rigger Level II written exam in place of the Rigger Level I recertification exam. In order to achieve full Rigger Level II certification, the candidate must pass the practical exam within 12 months of passing the Rigger Level II written exam. Candidates advancing to Rigger Level II are encouraged to take the Rigger Level II written and practical exams at the same time or to take the Rigger Level II practical exam first. Candidates are permitted to schedule and take both the Level I and Level II written and practical exams at the same time; however, for Rigger Level II certification to be valid, Rigger Level I certification must also be current. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, comply with NCCO's Substance Abuse Policy, pass a written examination, pass a practical examination, and comply with the NCCCO Code of Ethics.
