Engineer Equipment Mechanics perform preventive maintenance and perform repairs to diesel engines and gasoline and diesel driven construction equipment such as material handling equipment, earth moving equipment, construction equipment and other engine driven or towed equipment.

The American Welding Society (AWS), Certified Welder (CW) is a performance-based certification with no prerequisite courses or certifications required. The CW program tests welders on procedures used in the structural steel, petroleum pipelines, sheet metal and chemical refinery welding industries. There is a provision to test to a company-supplied or non-code welding specification. Tests for CW are performed at AWS Accredited Testing Facilities located throughout the world and are performance based. Final certification will provide candidates with a "transferrable" credential.

The United States Department of Transportation (FMCSA), Hazardous Material Endorsement (H) is a credential that may be obtained by individuals who are commercial driver's license (CDL) holders. The Hazardous Material Endorsement (H) permits the professional truck driver to transport hazardous materials (HAZMAT); the endorsement is required to legally transport hazardous material. To earn the Hazardous Material Endorsement (H), candidates are required to be CDL holders, be a U.S. citizen or able to provide proof of legal status in the United States, be of legal age to operate a HAZMAT vehicle, willing to complete the TSA background check and to pass this check plus additional background checks. Candidates must complete a medical screening and pass the written exam.

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), Undercar Specialist Exhaust Systems (X1) certification is for technicians who can demonstrate knowledge of the skills necessary to diagnose and repair automobile brakes, suspension and steering, and exhaust systems. To earn the Undercar Specialist Exhaust Systems (X1) certification, candidates must be currently certified in both Automobile/Light Truck - Suspension and Steering (A4) and Automobile/Light Truck -Brakes (A5), have at least two years of hands-on work experience, and pass a written exam.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1500 hours professional experience on a project team or 23 hours of project management education.

It was developed to assess professionals' aptitude within the five (5) pillars of the Maintenance and Reliability Body of Knowledge: Business Management, Equipment Reliability, Manufacturing Process Reliability, Organization and Leadership, and Work Management. There are no educational or experiential requirements to sit for the exam.

The Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP), Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT) is an entry-level certification. CMRT will provide a non-biased, third-party, objective assessment and confirmation of the skills of your industrial maintenance mechanics. CMRT's are responsible for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance. They perform troubleshooting and analysis, and apply sound maintenance practices in all aspects of their work. CMRTs are multi-skilled individuals whose expertise is primarily mechanical in nature as opposed to instrumentation or electrical. The CMRT exam tests competency and knowledge of specific tasks within four (4) domains: Maintenance Practices, Preventative and Predictive Maintenance, Troubleshooting and Analysis, and Corrective Maintenance. There are no specific education or experience requirements to sit for the exam. Candidates must pass a written exam.

Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM), Certified Hazardous Materials Practitioner (CHMP) cerification is for candidates who have proficiency in front-line hazardous materials. Candidates must have at least 5 years of relevant experience with responsibilities directly related to the handling of hazardous materials and/or waste in the workplace; or, an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree from an accredited college or university in hazardous materials management, environmental science, environmental management, or environmental technology, plus 3 years of relevant experience as described above. Candidates must pass a written exam.
